Story
During isolation so far, I have been completely inspired by all the amazing challenges people have taken on from the comfort of their own homes, raising phenomenal amounts of money for some incredible causes around the world!
Watching all these amazing initiatives has motivated me to do my own challenge and so, starting on 1st May, I will be climbing the height of Mt Everest using my stairs at home. To reach the 8,848m summit, I’ll be climbing my stairs 3,350 times over the next 12 weeks, which works out at 280 times a week and 40 times a day…knew that GCSE in Maths would come in handy!
I’ll be raising money for The Gurkha Welfare Trust https://www.gwt.org.uk/ which is a charity I love and work for! I’ve been lucky enough to see first-hand the incredible and crucial work they do out in Nepal providing financial, medical and community aid to Gurkha Veterans, their families and wider communities and the positive impact this has on their lives.
As we all know times are hard and just a bit bonkers at the moment but any donations you can give towards this challenge, big or small, will be so gratefully received by myself and our beneficiaries and will go towards supporting the amazing work The GWT do, especially now when they are most vulnerable.
For 200 years they fought for us, now let’s help fight for them!
