Story
On 22nd of July, I will push myself to run 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. If I can't run, I will walk. If I can't walk, I'll crawl. But whatever I do, I will keep doing those 48 miles. You can see my progress by watching the Strava updates from this JustGiving page.
SCT is an East London based charity that helps people with drug or alcohol addictions and complex needs to achieve lasting recovery and a more fulfilling life. People coming to them often have multiple and complex needs – many experiencing homelessness, poverty, mental illness and the criminal justice system.
From January to December 2019 their Drop-in saw over 590 visitors and served 936 meals. They helped nearly half of their residents stay in recovery six months after entering the programme. And their training and development centre helped 18 people complete traineeships at their social enterprises. I am so proud to see their Choices recovery community grow by 38% from 26 to 36 members a week. More of what they do can be found at https://www.sct.org.uk.
I've volunteered for them a few times and love the impact they are having and all the great things they are doing. Since I can't volunteer for a while, I can raise funds for them.
