Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
When I was 3 years old I was burnt by a Bodem Cafitier. I was wearing a nylon dress that stuck to my skin and when they took the dress off, my skin came off with it. I had a skin graft from my thigh to my chest, arms and a little of my right foot.
I got bullied throughout my school life, when I went for a check up at the hospital after an operation I had when I was 11. The doctor asked me if I'd be interested in meeting other children just like me. When I was 12 I went camping with the Children's Burns Camp. They were amazing. I met other kids just like me and a lot worse off. It really humbled me and made me feel lucky. I went wind sailing, wind surfing, water skiing, (there was horse riding but I'm petrified of horses) archery, canoeing, we had the fire brigade come to the camp and they set up a huge inflatable assault course with a massive water slide at the end. Jamie and Louise Rednapp came to the camp that day too... What these people do is give children a chance to feel normal... To be around other children with the same afflictions, you have no idea what just a week away can do for a child's confidence.
