This is the second memorial run for our son George who was fatally injured crossing a road in October 2008.  He was 17.

Last year we raised funds for the Road Safety Charity Brake, but this year, we are hoping to  raise awareness for The Compassionate Friends and aim to start a local support group for bereaved parents in Rainford We want to promote the good work that The Compassionate Friends (TCF) accomplish selflessly around the UK..TCF is a charitable organisation of bereaved parents, dedicated to the support of other bereaved parents, siblings and grandparents.  They have offered support to us in our time of need and continue to do so.  In turn we are now in a position to offer support ourselves as it is only a bereaved parent that truly understands the pain that goes with losing a child.
