Story
Thank you for visiting this page, which has been established in memory of George Ellison. The Heart of Kent Hospice was an invaluable source of help for George and his Family providing advice, assistance and essential care during George’s illness.
The Heart of Kent Hospice is a registered charity specialising in palliative care for the people of Maidstone, Aylesford, Tonbridge and Malling and the surrounding local communities. Their specialist team offers skilled care, comfort, compassion and hope to people facing the challenge of a life limiting illness.
The Hospice has a team of professionals and volunteers specialising in providing skilled care to people facing the challenge of a life limiting illness. They are responsive to the needs of their patients, their families and their carers.
The Hospice believes that during any one year there are 1250 people in the Heart of Kent who could benefit from their services as the end of their life approaches. The Hospice is currently in touch with only about 37% of these people and their families.
As a charity the services that the Heart of Kent offer are free of charge. However, this does mean that of the £3.8m that it currently costs per year to provide our care, we have to raise over £2.7m ourselves from the community that we serve.
Any donations made in George’s Memory will be very gratefully received by the Charity and may help other families benefit from the specialised care and compassion that the Heart of Kent is so professional at providing.
