Story
Hi all.... my name is Katie. I’m the mum of the little boy I’m about to write about. This is a little bio of how we ended up where we are now.
so there I was outside the school one day waiting for George (my little boy). He come running out with a very inquisitive look on his face. Only 7 at the time. He came to me and asked if he could cut off all his hair and donate it. I was obviously shocked at why he would ask such a question. Then he went on to explain that a girl in his class had just cut off her hair to donate it to children with cancer and that he really wanted to do the same.
I asked the girls mum which charity it was for and she told me it was the little princess trust. I then read up about it and discovered you had to grow it at least 7 inches but they like it to be 10! I explained this all to George and he was still adamant he wanted to do this. I honestly didn’t think he would stick with it! I thought the first time he got called a girl he would cut it off! But no even after a whole football session of ‘ that girls good!’ He didn’t let it bother him!
Every month we would measure his hair to see how far he was getting and when we got to 7 inches George said we might as well carry on to 10!
When asked why George just says he wants to help the children just like the girls in his class did.
