A group of nine friends and regulars of the Courtyard bar in have been training to complete the C2C cycle ride from Whitehaven to Roker, on 5^th September 2009, ably assisted by another 2 friends in supporting roles.

The team all wanted to support a regional organisation that struggles to achieve the level of funding to operate. After a lot of soul searching, they have decided to support the Great North Air Ambulance. They eventually decided on this good cause, not only for the brilliant work the team do in being on the scene quickly, saving lives, but also, on a personal level, the gratitude of one of the team and his family whose brother was involved in a serious motor cycle accident in Rothbury, Northumberland, and if wasn’t for the quick response by the air ambulance team, he may not be with us today.
