About me
On Friday 15 October 2021, I plan on doing one of the most terrifying (and hopefully exhilarating) things that I will ever do in my life and all for a good cause.
The Lockdown has certainly put things into perspective and I've been looking at new ways to challenge myself and face fears. You only live once.
As a man who doesn't take well to heights, this willl be the ultimate challenge. If you know me well, you'd know that I struggle to even climb the trees at Go Ape, so nerves are extremely high.
I will be jumping from 15,000ft (the highest you can jump from) with Go Skydive.
I would love if we could all get together, raise some money for a wonderful local charity to me and at the same time help conquer my fear of heights.
About the charity
Guild Care have been part of our local community for many years, and in 2018 we celebrated 85 years of charitable work helping people within Worthing and surrounding areas. Guild Care was established in 1933 as the Worthing Council of Social Service by a group of local philanthropists to support vulnerable local people in poverty with small grants and free legal advice. Over the years we have played a leading role in Worthing, setting up some of the towns most well-loved organisations such as Worthing Citizens Advice Bureau (one of the first in the country) and St Barnabas House Hospice. Our services are constantly evolving, and today we offer support in reducing loneliness in older people, delivering specialist dementia day care and care homes, and working with children and adults with learning disabilities and complex needs. These services also provide valuable respite breaks for carers. We also run domiciliary home care and a year round community and outreach programme.
