Story
I am a Lossie loon married to Ray for nearly 40 years, with two grown up sons Gavin and Findlay. I've spent most of my working life in Aberdeen with Shell and retired back to Lossie in 2017. I became the school Janitor at both Anderson's and Pilmuir primary schools in Forres between 2017 & 2021 where I had the privilege of working with some really great people and wonderful kids.
I was diagnosed with Oesophageal cancer in July 2021 & following several scans and a staging laparoscopy my treatment began with chemotherapy in September 2021. Following this I had an Oesophagogastrectomy in December 21 where the tumour was successfully removed. More chemo followed In February 2022 and I am now in recovery.
I am taking part in the Brave Catwalk 2023 to support a really worthwhile cause and to give something back to the wonderful people who helped us through this journey. Every penny of your donations will go towards the ANCHORED TOGETHER appeal; the charity's commitment to raise £2M for additional extras within the Anchored Centre, which is currently under construction and due to open this year.
All of Friends of Anchor's overheads are covered by local company Balmoral Group, so you can rest assured that 100% of your donations will do great work.
