Story
Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.
Rachel and I are competing in the Great North Run to raise funds for the Dystonia Society, www.dystonia.org.uk The first race we ran was to raise funds after my Father's death due to MND, and now we are again racing for a motor neurological condition, Dystonia, and the impetus for this is again a little close to home. Our cousin has contracted Dystonia, but he is not letting it get in the way of his own running, and he has been an inspiration to our running, so it seemed only fitting to support the Dystonia society.
Dystonia is a neurological movement disorder - faulty signals from the brain cause the muscles to spasm and pull on the body incorrectly. This forces the body into twisting, repetitive movements or abnormal postures.
Its estimated there are over 70,000 people in the UK who are effected by Dystonia - with no known cure.
Please support us on this journey of fund raising so we can make a difference to their lives, with money going to support networks and research.
