Story
On 03/04/22 I’ll be running my first Marathon in Paris.
When I signed up for this challenge in the summer of 2021 I selfishly had no plans to raise any money for charity, my only aim was to tick ‘the marathon’ off my own personal bucket list. However, in October when we discovered that my Mum’s ongoing back issues were not caused by a prolapsed disc and were in fact a result of a lesion on her spine, caused by Myeloma, I felt it would be good to try and raise some money to research this form of cancer in the hope that is would help find ways to extend my Mum’s time with us.
As many of you probably know, Mum’s cancer was far more aggressive than anyone hoped or expected and she sadly died within weeks rather than years of her initial diagnosis.
This horribly quick and unfair episode has made me reevaluate my motivation for running this race and now I will be doing so in memory of my wonderful Mum. By running this race I know I’m not going to find a cure to cancer but I hope to raise some money to help find ways to improve and extend the lives of those that have to adapt to live with this disease.
Any donations, big or small, are hugely appreciated.
Much Love, Breddy
