Story
I am going to Spain on the 5th September until the 28th October to complete a 500 mile walk across the north of Spain. It's a pilgrim walk called El Camino de Santiago de Compostela.
Whilst many people partake in this walk for religious and spiritual reasons, I am completing this to raise £1000 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
I have chosen this charity as this time last year my Grandmother sadly passed away from this awful disease.
My Nan was one of the kindest little Irish ladies living a simple life, many years of which working as a nurse, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
In 2015 she started dramatically losing weight, seeing family less often until finally in October 2015 she was diagnosed.
Gradually she lost more and more weight due to not being able to swallow food whilst other neurons in her brain started to
shut down.
Simple tasks such as writing, walking and even talking eventually became impossible, to a point that she was only breathing.
In 2016 she passed away surrounded by her family peacefully in her home and now, a year later I have decided to raise money to help eradicate this awful disease.
Every donation will be greatly appreciated. Thank you
