Story
Many of the icons of Christmas are associated with the mythical icy north and at this time of year, you don't have to look far to see a "North Pole" sign, or a sparkly polar bear decoration hanging from a tree. The polar wildernesses are already suffering from the impacts of climate change.
Please join me in making a small but worthwhile contribution to the World Wildlife Fund to support their work in saving the real polar bears, the real reindeer herders, the real snowy scenes.
The polar bear is just one example, a barometer for humankind: Polar bear numbers are predicted to decline by 30% by 2050 but it's not too late to do something about it. The WWF has a dedicated international team working on issues of energy and climate change. They support the protection of important polar bear habitats and help Arctic communities co-exist safely with this formidable predator. They work to make industrial development and tourism more sustainable and lobby national and international stakeholders to mitigate the impacts of global climate change. Check out WWF.org for more information.
Please join me and together we will soon have a significant sum to donate directly to WWF to help them in their work to save the real polar habitats so they don't melt into a Christmas fairy-tale.
