Story
Our daughter first sailed with the Tall Ships Youth Trust five years ago when she was 14, and has had such a fantastic time with them, sailing every year. She is now a Watch Leader with the Trust and last year sailed from Portsmouth to northern Spain and back. She would never have had these opportunities without the Trust; having adventure and fun, working and living closely with others, and taking part in its youth work programme.
I think the Tall Ships Youth Trust is a great organisation and deserves to be supported for all the experiences it offers to young people. The pandemic has however hit the charity hard. Having been viable over the last few years, its cash flow has plummeted and it wants to survive beyond this crisis to continue its work with disadvantaged young people.
It is seeking to raise £100,000 to help it do this, and is currently two-thirds the way there. But there is a lull in giving at the moment. In its 64th year, the Trust is asking people to challenge themselves in some way relating to 6 and 4. Having only made four different ice creams and sorbets in the past (not even vanilla!), making 64 different flavours in 64 days is going to be a challenge for me! So, please support this good cause.
Anything you can give will be much appreciated both by me and by the many young people who benefit from the work of the Tall Ships Youth Trust. Thank you.
