I HAVE JUST BEEN TOLD BY A "GOOD FRIEND"? THAT YOU DON'T NEED A PARACHUTE TO DO A SKYDIVE BUT YOU DO NEED A PARACHUTE TO DO A SKYDIVE TWICE!!! (work it out.....)
Hi. Last year on April 1st of all days, my eldest daughter (Tasha) and I did our very first skydive. It was Tasha's brilliant idea - she wanted to do something in memory of her cousin, Emma (please see photo evidence below - I have deliberately ommitted the close ups of my panic-stricken face!!). You have to be 16 to do a skydive, so daughter number 2, Alisha, turns 16 on May 2nd so I have been "volunteered" to take to the skies again on May 11th to keep her company. Please support us and help raise funds for such a worthwhile cause!
ELY was formed by Angela and Steve Tyler who tragically lost their daughter and only child Emma (my niece and Lishas cousin) in a road traffic accident over two years ago. They were both devastated and the reality of what had happened was made worse when they did not have enough money available to pay for her funeral. Fortunately Emma's nan took that additional stress and anxiety away from them and helped themto cover the costs. Somehow Ange and Steve have moved on a little and decided to set up ELY in memory of Emma. The Charity has somehow given them both something to focus on as they never want anyone in Herefordshire to be faced with a similar financial burden at such a tragic time again. Since the fund started we have raised nearly £20k through many small fund raising events , we have a small but dedicated team and our aim is to assist anyone in the county who may find themselves in a similar tragic situation by helping with funeral costs , bereavement councilling and assisting the family in anyway possible.
