Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Our friend Jamie developed chronic kidney disease which led to him needing dialysis three times a week, just to stay alive.

Following 9 months of tests, Geoff donated one of his kidneys to Jamie in February this year and they are both now fully recovered.

Having seen the awful effects of kidney disease on the life of a hitherto fit, healthy friend, we decided to try to help Kidney Research UK with their work to find better treatments and, hopefully, a cure for this most debilitating of illnesses.

We're walking the entire 270 mile length of the Kungsleden (King's Trail) in northern Sweden in August and September this year. We will be unsupported, carrying all we need to camp on our journey through the Scandinavian wilderness. Much of the trek is above the Arctic Circle and is expected to take us around 30 days.

We will fund the journey ourselves, so every donation will go direct to Kidney Research UK.

We will both be grateful for any donation you feel able to make.

Thank you,

Geoff and Chrissie Crowther
