Story
When: Saturday 11th September 2021.
LED's mission is to provide low-tech solutions to 3 basic needs: affordable lighting, basic education and essential healthcare. Led by the inspiring Val Pitkethly, they focus on the remote communities of Nepal and Peru. Having raised over £750 earlier this year, we got the bug to lace up the walking boots again and take part in the Coledale Horsehoe challenge. Not 100% sure what we are letting ourselves in for, we are going to be joined by Danny “Danielson” one of our closest friends.
LED do such amazing work, I am fortunate that the lady referenced above (Val) is my aunty, so I have heard many stories first hand. It can only be described as making a difference to peoples lives, and it’s giving them access to something we all take for granted.
We want to raise the stakes… we got to £750 last time! So we thought, how to make it interesting…. My boss and peers often joke about how at times I need to rush from work to take my daughter to her dance class. They are convinced this is all just a story, and in reality the lessons are for me. I have had to experience ballet dancer zoom backgrounds during lockdown, along with a barrage of asks for demos or whether I am off camera as I am getting ready for my dance class.
Well here it goes… the lessons are definitely for my daughter, but if people would sponsor, contribute, donate and allow us to smash our target (£1000)… the challenge will be done in a blue tutu with matching accessories!!!! Not only by me, but also my son Codey and Danny will join me too. Thanks both, your such a good sport.
Come on everyone… let’s make a difference and give people things we all have as a basic need in life.
Thank you for your support!!!
