There is a special place in our hearts that is just for Geoff. It is full of memories of him, his sayings, the things he did and the time we have shared together. His loss is heartbreaking for our family and we will never be quite the same again. Even at this sad time for our family, we are thankful. We could have lost Geoff much earlier in his fight against cancer had it not been for the Hope Unit. The Hope Unit did exactly 'what it said on the tin' - it gave us hope. The staff were friendly, supportive and genuinely, truly cared for Geoff. They worked tirelessly to be positive and carry out our wishes. Geoff made friends at the unit and the atmosphere there was lovely, but most importantly it allowed Geoff to have the type of treatment that he would not have received otherwise.

Hope Against Cancer is a local based charity that is committed to providing funding for cancer research projects and supporting clinical trials in Leicestershire. In the end it gave us the most precious gift of all, time. Time with Geoff, time to make memories and time to say goodbye.
