Story
As some will know, Muscular Dystrophy is a charity very close to my heart. My nephew Charlie was diagnosed with MD, and he has overcome huge obstacles and continues to amaze everyone with his progress. MDUK help to provide support and equipment to those who need it, and continue with the research to help children and adults living with the condition.
I will be running 100 laps of a local 420m loop, running a total of 42km (or 26 miles) from Friday 30 April to Monday 3 May 2021 (4 days). This will be recorded on Strava, plus I will share on Facebook for all to see.
The Covid-19 pandemic has had a catastrophic effect on charities, with the cancellation of thousands of events and the loss of billions in income. At a time when vulnerable members of society need them most, charities have had to cut services, furlough staff and some have even shut down. Captain Tom stepped up to help, taking on his famous walk to support the NHS Covid-19 appeal and inspiring millions to donate to the cause. I will be celebrating the extraordinary spirit of Captain Tom my way and help my chosen charity.
