Story
In April 2024, with my friends Kerri and Calum, I will be taking on the challenge of running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for a special cause.
My family and friends all know of my mum’s long battle with progressive MS. Diagnosed at 40, she soon lost her ability to walk. From then on, her condition deteriorated and her journey with MS was a difficult one. It robbed her of so much, but at the same time, taught her (and us) a lot about living with a chronic, degenerative condition and other disabilities.
We couldn’t figure out a way to halt or slow MS progression in time to help my mum, who is sadly no longer with us, but if we keep raising funds for research, new treatments will be found and we can give hope to those who are being diagnosed today.
And to end on a positive note, for so many years, my mum didn’t let MS hold her back. She enjoyed her life to the fullest despite her MS and I’m very proud of her for that 🥰.
Thank you so much in advance for donating whatever you can, it really will make a massive difference.
