Story
As most of you will know, Mat & I sadly lost our first baby in June 2021 - Pip. I could not have got through the past 9 months without the support of my friends, my family, and Mat.
I don't want it to be a secret, and I'm not ashamed to say that I have struggled massively since we lost Pip. I had some incredible support through a counselling charity based in Plymouth and I threw myself into my gym and fitness which led me to Ryan & Luna's Fund.
I know how devastated we were when we lost Pip - we were so in love with Pip from the moment we got that positive test so I can't even begin to imagine the pain of falling even further in love over weeks and months to then have that taken away.
Ryan and his wife Aimee are the founders of Luna's fund which was created in memory of their beautiful daughter Luna Valentina Conroy who was born sleeping on 29 November 2017.
"Luna’s Fund, ‘Love & Unity for Neonates And Stillborns.’ Offering practical support to bereaved parents upon the loss of their baby through stillbirth (from 24 weeks) or neonatal death (28 days post birth) in Plymouth. Our services: Relaxing Getaways, Nursery Redecoration or Food Hamper Deliveries."
It is a charity that is very close to my heart which is why, in my crazy mind, I've decided to take part in their charity sky dive this year. I'm scared of heights and I have never done anything like this before but since losing Pip, I have realised that life is too short and you never know what is going to happen. It will help raise money for an incredible cause and if I can do even the smallest thing to help those in a terrible situation then I will.
Thank you
Gemma
