Story
Last year we were all extremely saddened by the sudden and tragic loss of our fantastic friend Gemma Sykes who was suffering from B-Cell Lymphoma, a type of blood cancer. Before Gemma became ill she was passionately involved with the Register and be a Lifesaver charity (part of the Anthony Nolan Trust) which trained volunteer speakers to go into schools and speak to students to raise the awareness of Bone Marrow, Blood and Organ Donation in the hope that more people will donate and help save a life. Gemma was one of the first of these volunteer speakers. She will always be remembered as someone who loved to be outdoors, relished a challenge and had compassion by the bucket load. A group of her loved ones wanted to do something to honour that and raise money for the charity at the same time, and Gemma Rocks was born. Climbing Snowden was the obvious choice as we know Gemma had spent time there and loved it. We are set to do the Llanberis route which is 10 miles so please give generously!! All money raised is going to the Register and be a Lifesaver charity.
