Story
In May 2012 I took up running with the aim of improving my mental and physical health. It has worked wonders.
I created this page back then so that I could try to raise some much-needed quids for an excellent charity that works hard to raise awareness of mental health issues and support those who face everyday battles with conditions such as depression.
I know first-hand how difficult such battles can be, and the importance of having people to talk to.
When I started running my first goal was to complete the Spartan Sprint 5k-ish obstacle course. I then caught the running bug and decided to do a "biggie" - the Silverstone Half Marathon - as a real test of strength, character and determination.
I still swore that was enough in terms of distance, but now I find myself with a place in the London Marathon 2014. And the strangest part is I'm really looking forward to it!
A massive thank you to those who have already made a donation, and of course to everyone who is sharing this crazy running journey with me.
Your support is very much appreciated.
