Story

Our team of Peak Trekkers: Gemma Millican, Jess Palmer, Paul Plawecki, Julie Findlay, Dan Cook,  Adrian Hancock, Shaun Mycock, Andreas Bougas, Phil Wolvin, Duncan Marsh, Mark Windsor and Waheed Ud-din will be taking on Kinder Scout in the Peak District a 10 mile/16km circular walk with the highest point in the Peak District at 636 metres above sea level.

This route takes around five hours to complete it's very steep but very beautiful!

With many young people suffering specifically through the pandemic we would like to support the Prince's Trust and the great work they do.

Recent findings show that the pandemic has caused young people to
lose faith in their ability to find work and has caused some to lack confidence in their skills in finding future prospects.

  • More than half of young people (52%) agree they’ve lost confidence in themselves as a result of the pandemic
  • Young people from lower income backgrounds and those who have experienced unstable employment during the pandemic are more likely to report poor mental health and lost confidence
  • 44% of young people agree they don't know how they'll get their life back on track
  • Less than a quarter of young people (22%) say they feel confident in their future career
  • A quarter of young people (24%) worry they do not have the skills for the jobs that are available to them, and 44% agree that over the course of the pandemic, they have even lost confidence in their ability to do the job they are trained to do.

However, 45% agree that the time to retrain and gain new skills has made them feel optimistic about their future.

Join us in supporting the Prince's Trust and raising funds to support our future generations and build back confidence lost during the pandemic.

The Princes Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. The youth charity was founded by HRH The Prince of Wales in 1976 and has helped more than 950,000 young people to date, giving them the skills and confidence to change their lives. Three in four young people on Princes Trust courses move into work, education or training.
