Story
Last year I successfully completed the Yorkshire three peaks challenge and raised money for Claire House Children's Hospice. So this year I will challenge myself again and walk the National Three Peaks.
On the 6th of October myself and a team from the Liverpool Medical Student Society will attempt to scale Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in under 24 hours. This consists of a total climb of ~2990m, or approximately 1474 flights of stairs and 22,100 steps.
This challenge is being undertaken in order to raise money for Claire House House Children's Hospice and Heartbeat (See below for websites). Claire House Children’s Hospice helps seriously and terminally ill children live life to the full by creating wonderful experiences and providing invaluable support to the families of these children. Heartbeat is a charity which assists the Wirral Heart Support Centre, and their most recent project is raising £10,000 for new gym equipment to aid in rehabilitating cardiac outpatients. Both of these charities are close to everyone in the LMSS's hearts and your support would be amazing!
