We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Every now and again I enter the London Marathon just because and I never get in. Only this time I did. The hot sweat that came over me when I opened my ‘you’re in’ email was ridiculous and the sheer panic I felt is still with me now. However, I am determined to do it even if it kills me.

Since finding out I got in I can’t say how many times I have swore at myself for entering or had negative thoughts that I’ll never do it, but there’s this little voice that overcomes all of that and keeps me going.

Every run starts with ‘what on earth are you doing?’ And ends with this sense of achievement and a feeling that I will complete it.

After I received my place I decided that whilst I’m running for me I should join a charity and the one that I always go back to is the NSPCC. They are in my heart having previously worked for them. Every child deserves a childhood filled with happiness and no fear. I love the charity for all the work they do and feel honoured to do more for them.

I won’t be getting ‘the bug’ and doing another marathon. I won’t be entering again on a whim. But if anyone donates I will be truly grateful. All money goes straight to the charity.

Thank you
