Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As a lot of you may be aware in May 2013 our family life was turned upside down as my Mum (Liz Bell) at the age of 50 was diagnosed with a stage 4 glioblastoma. This amazing lady put up the fight of her life as she set herself 3 goals she wanted to meet in 2014. These were the birth of her 1st grandchild, Beth my sister Kerri's little girl in January 2014, my youngest sister Laura's graduation in June 2014 and my own wedding in December 2014. After 9 months of watching this illness strip my mum of not only her hair, her bubbly fun loving personality, her mobility and dignity this amazing woman lost her fight on the 10th February 2014 aged only 50 a day that will haunt us as a family for the rest of our lives. Before this tragic loss my mum did complete one of her lifetime goals of becoming a Nana with the birth of Beth on the 15th January 2014, I couldn't remember the last time I had seen my mum that happy! Unfortunately things took a turn for the worse on 19th January when my mum began to struggle. For those of you who know me well you will know I have always wanted to run a marathon for whatever reason it has been a lifelong ambition. I now want to complete one of my lifetime goals to make my mum proud, as proud as we were of her when she achieved one of her lifetime goals! I chose to apply to The Brain Tumour Charity as we need to find a cure or better treatments to prevent other families having to go through what mine did, slowly losing a piece of your relative day by day.
I am grateful for everyone's support and would appreciate whatever people can afford to give for this great cause! Every little helps!
Lots of Love
