Fundraising for Great North Air Ambulance Service
Hi guys! Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some of you will already be aware, last November PC Bill Barker paid the ultimate sacrifice and lost his life whilst trying to direct traffic on the North Side bridge in Workington when it collasped due to the force of the water, sweeping him to his death. Nothing could have been done to prevent this, he was simply a normal guy trying to do the job that he loved.
In honour of Bill and his family and friends a new 10 mile run from Cockermouth to Workington has been set up to help raise money for Bill's much loved charity the Great North Air Ambulance, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday 18th July 2010 and will hopefully be the first of many!
I am taking part in this run and would love to raise as much money as possible for this charity, i know that money is tighter than ever given the current climate so i am not expecting miracles here, but it would be amazing if everyone gave something, even if £1 is all that you can afford. It's everyones chance to say a small thankyou to Bill and his family.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please guys give what you can and spare a thought for the idiot running through the cumbrian hills!xx
