Story
I was born in Africa, but with British Citizenship. I am very fortunate to now be able to live in the UK, a safe country with free healthcare, social security and freedom of speech.
I love Africa and it makes me sad to think of the cycle of poverty and injustice that robs so many people of the kind of opportunities I have had in my life. However, working with Christian Partners in Africa has proved to me that it is possible to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those living in another continent.
I am choosing not to take what I have for granted. I am taking what I can give; my time and energy, and with the help of my family and friends I hope to resource some of the amazing work being done through CPA.
I will be walking a sponsored mile barefoot and the money raised will be used to buy footwear for children at St Paul’s School, Rukungiri, in southern Uganda. These children are on a sponsorship programme that provides a free education to children who could otherwise not afford it. Some children walk up to an hour to reach the school every day so good shoes are really important!
