Last year some friends of mine sowed a little seed in my mind when they entered Brighton Marathon.  I always wanted to run a marathon but figured it was impossible.  Imagine getting to the end of a half marathon, turning around and going all the way back?!

8 months down the line, 4 months of tendonitis, 1 very painful Army Reserves Commission, 4 months of relentless training, endless amounts of foam rollering and more bananas than you can shake a stick at.....I finally get to find out if it is possible to run a marathon and hopefully do something good along the way.

Launchpad is a charity that helps some of Reading’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged people to turn their lives around and fulfil their potential.  The charity had humble beginnings, starting out as a soup kitchen about 35 years ago.  Motivation and ambition grew over the years and it is now an established local charity offering help and support from counselling, education and training to housing for people who need a second chance.

Launchpad is the Amec Foster Wheeler charity for 2015 so the hope is that your donations will be enhanced by the company.
