Story

For those who know our story know how much The Skye High foundation have supported my family and I after losing our beautiful boy Hunter.

Our identical twin boys were born at 26 weeks in June 2021 both were receiving full intensive care and fighting for life, we devastatingly lost our Hunter 4 days later. Hudson continued fighting in NICU and after many many obstacles, came home after 101 days and to this day he is the strongest, cheekiest most determined little boy, he really is our little miracle, and the best friend to his big brother Oakley. The charity is so close to our hearts and supported us through the hardest time of our lives. We were given a cot card to put into Hudson's incubator with a butterfly image and Hunter's name which symbolises the loss of a twin or multiple, to remember our baby and also allowing staff and parents to be sensitive to our situation. The Skye High Foundation also sent us messages of support which was a huge source of comfort coming from parents who had been where we were. The butterfly has become a symbol so significant to our daily lives in remembering Hunter.

My husband Jonathan has recently become a trustee for The Skye High Foundation which we are so proud of. Speaking about our Hunter and helping to better the support of other families is something we are so passionate about. This past year the foundation sent out butterfly support packages to every neonatal unit in the country for families who unfortunately find themselves in this devastating situation, we hand delivered these to Luton and Dunstable NICU where Hudson and Hunter were born which was incredibly rewarding.

Watching my husband and sister running the London landmarks last year I was determined to run myself in the future, so I am delighted to be running this year alongside my wonderful dad Keith, who is also extremely passionate about the foundation, in memory of my precious Son Hunter and Keith's Grandson, to raise money and awareness for this incredible charity.

Any donations are so gratefully received, they will massively help other families who unfortunately find themselves in a similar situation by receiving the appropriate support from the foundation and ensuring hospitals around the country continue to have the butterfly cards and support packages.

Thank you for the support x

About the charity

The Skye High Foundation was set up to help families dealing with the loss of a baby who was part of a multiple birth. We created a purple butterfly cot card and poster. The cot card allows families the opportunity to make others around them aware of the journey they are going through.
