Nicks story
On the 8th of January 2015 I will be climbing Kilimanjaro.
I will be doing this in memory of My very good friend and boss Mr Nick Lowe who lost his battle with cancer in November 2013.
Nick was the manager of the Heathy Farm in Crawley for many Years, and we joked with him he was our 'pub dad'.
He was an amazing man, boss, husband, father, son and friend and Possibly the bravest person I have ever met. In his battle for over 18 months he never gave up. He'd even come into work clearly poorly for everyone to send him straight home. He was always positive and never once thought he wouldn't win his battle. A true champ!
He left behind such a beautiful young family.
When Nick passed away it was a big shock to the system for everyone. For me I still cannot believe it and felt something needed to be done in his memory.
So I've decided to go for a tough challenge and climb Kilimanjaro.
When choosing a charity I asked Nicks lovely wife Emma to choose something that his heart was close to.
Emma chose CLIC as the charity. When he was in and out of hospital, seeing very poorly children in there really broke his heart.
CLIC is a fantastic charity who do so much for for poorly children with this awful disease.
Emma said it broke Nicks heart seeing new born babies hooked up on machines being breast fed whilst having chemo. The thought of this is heart breaking-imagine seeing it whilst having the worry of Nicks cancer battle.
This just shows what a brave man Nick was. He was going through such a battle himself but cared so much for others instead.
The royal marsden in sutton where nick was looked after, spent most of his time and where he sadly passed away also raise money for CLIC.
A children's charity is the choice as well due to Nick leaving behind his 2 gorgeous young children Sebastian and Isabella. Anyone who knew Nick knew how much he lived for his children.
Please donate to NICKS STORY! Every penny counts and I want to do him proud. I'll be doing this climb in memory of Nick from everyone who knew him, not just me. So if and when I reach the top I've done it for us all.
Thank you so much for taking time to read Nicks Story.
