Story
Carolyn and Claire are taking part in Waterberg Trust Trek in South Africa 27 January - 2 February 2019.
It's a gruelling 200km horse ride, which means participants will spend up to 7-8 hours a day in the saddle, often in hot and dusty conditions.
Claire and Carolyn are raising money to support UK charity that helps uplift the people in a corner of rural South Africa (northern Limpopo), supporting established educational, health, welfare and environmental projects on the Waterberg plateau. The purpose of the charity ride and money raised is to fund vital security for rhinos in the fight against poaching, conservation projects to increase environmental awareness, sending groups of children to participate in an eco-schools programme, paying the salary of a community school nurse to provide health education for children, and financial help to a kids club in the township. Every project has personal connection with the charity so we know exactly where the money is going and can make sure that it is spent effectively.
Claire and Carolyn will be visiting all these projects while on the ride.
50% of the funds raised go to the Waterberg Trust and 50% to the Waterberg Rhino.

Carolyn and Claire are funding all the costs associated with the trek and all money they raise will go to charity.
