Together we did it, we raised £20’000 in 7 days 💙🌈👏🏼🙏

We are marking the occasion of getting 20’000 Facebook page likes by doing something extra special and making a difference in our community. What better way to do it then raise money for a charity. The charity we chose is The Health Tree Foundation which is the local charity for our Grimsby, Scunthorpe and Goole NHS hospitals.

60% of the target funds raised will go towards purchasing 70 tablet devices, so that all patients in our Grimsby, Scunthorpe and Goole NHS hospitals (who don’t have access to a smart phone) are able to have face to face communication with their relatives and loved ones on these tablets via a video call.

The remaining funds will be spent on improving NHS staff areas within our Diana, Princess of Wales hospital in Grimsby. This will be great joy to our hardworking NHS frontline team that are working tirelessly to help protect our local community!

Many elderly patients don’t own a smart phone and are totally shut off from face to face communication with loved ones due to the fact that visiting is currently not allowed during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

This pandemic has changed the world.  We used to be able to comfort our sick family members and spend precious time at their hospital bedside – now we can’t even visit them and many elderly patients are now shut off from visible communication to the outside world. It’s really sad to think that these patients are not able to use the video calling technology that we all use on a daily basis and perhaps take for granted. 

Face to Face communication is so important and these devices will bring a huge morale boost to patients, relatives and the staff, which is much needed during these unprecedented times.

These tablet devices will not just help during the COVID-19 crisis but they will be used by NHS patients for many years after this crisis. Without your donations, this project would not be possible.

The quicker we can raise the £20’000 for The Health Tree Foundation, the sooner the devices can make a positive difference. These devices could be fully operational within our NHS hospitals by the middle of next week!
