Over 97% of water extracted from Gaza aquifers is unfit for human consumption. Let's help build water wells in Gaza for those that need it the most.

Story

Assalam Alykoom Waramatulah Wabarakatu,

I need your help as I am raising funds to build a water well in Gaza with IDRF.

Our beloved Prophet Mohamed (PBUH) said: "None of you will believe until you love for your brother what you love for yourself."
{Arbain Nawawiy}

He also thought us that "The upper hand (the one that gives) is better than the lower hand (the one that receives)" {Sahih al-Bukhari}

‘The Messenger of Allah (saw) was asked, “Which charity is best?” He replied, “[Providing] water”’.
 [Abu Dawud]

The Situation In Gaza
Across Gaza, sources of clean, potable water are extremely scarce. Approximately two million Gazans suffer from a shortage of water, which gets exponentially worse during the summer.

Over 97% of water extracted from Gaza aquifers is unfit for human consumption.
Ongoing water inspections by the Palestinian Water Authority (PWA) and the Coastal Municipalities Water Utility (CMWU) in Gaza continue to report high concentrations of chloride, nitrate, and salinity in their water. This makes it extremely unsafe to consume leading an entire population with little to no access to water.

How You Can Help
IDRF aims to fulfill the 6th Sustainable Development Goal of Clean Water in Gaza by digging and establishing five main water wells providing a sustainable source of potable water to the most vulnerable and in-need places across Gaza, such as hospitals, schools, and essential spaces.

A detail report will be provided to all donors upon completion of the well within approximately a year.

One water well in Gaza provides water to 7,500 people, 1250 families.

Who Was Mustapha Tounsi
10 years ago, Mustapha had started an initiative to unite the Muslim community to feed the homeless in Montreal during the entire month of Ramadan.

This was the first time I ever participated in relief work and I never stopped since…

Mustapha was a community leader, a loving family man, an entrepreneur and most importantly, Mustapha was someone who reminded us that the “most eloquent form of speech is action.”

With your help, this water well will be a source of Sadaqua Jarryah for him.

The world needs more Mustapha.

Rest in peace my brother.
