Having spent time in hospital with my children I recognise the great cause the Starlight Children's Foundation does.

It is a national children's charity dedicated to brightening the lives of children and young people suffering from a serious illness. 

They do this through our hospital play, distraction and entertainment services, wish granting and Escape programme. These programmes deliver the support and experiences that families need; helping them escape the reality and routine of serious illness and life-threatening conditions. 

Imagine a child who has been in hospital all their young life, the stress of worry for the parents and time commitments when they are trying to work, look after other children at home and be at the hospital 24/7.  Starlight Children's Foundations offers support so these parents get a break and the young child gets some play therapy.

Recent studies show that the simple act of play has huge benefits on a child's emotional, physical, social and spiritual health, which is why it is a central focus of everything we do; Both in a hospital environment and at home.
