We provide support, services and advice to help autistic people and their families

Story

My 12 year-old son Callum has Autism, a life-long condition which has profound effects on his emotions, communications skills, ability to interact with people and generally dealing with life on a day-to-day basis.  Despite the fact that 1 in 100 children in the UK have a form of Autism Spectrum Disorder (with many more undiagnosed), the condition is still widely misunderstood but organisations such as the National Austistic Society are helping the people affected by providing practical and emotional support to families and promoting awareness of the condition.

As well as helping a great cause, this is also my first 'official' 10K run so will be a massive achievement for me to complete this.  10K is not a lot for most people but as I only started running in January, it is something I would never have thought I'd be able to do, even as little as 6 months ago.  The training is hard and the stamina is getting there (I hope!) but that's all part of the challenge.

I haven't set a target amount on the page but would be grateful for any donation (regardless of how little) you can make.  Any help we can provide the National Autistic Society raise awareness and support the adults, children and families affected by Autism would be greatly appreciated.

 Thank You!
