Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have decided to raise money for the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital Charity on the back of the excellent care that they have given following on from the birth of my second daughter, Phoebe Grace Tomlinson.
At 31 weeks during my wife's routine growth scan, a cyst was spotted inside Phoebe, which is attached/inside adrenal gland. As the weeks went on the cyst grew larger and became more complex. My wife was transferred to St Marys Hospital in Manchester whereby the consultants decided Phoebe needed to be delivered at 37 weeks premature for assessment.
Phoebe was born on 17th April 2019 and presented as a healthy 5lb 7oz baby. On the day she was born I went with Phoebe for an ultrasound and the cyst was very large, pushing her organs in different places. However it was decided that she would be scanned again after 6 weeks.
Phoebe's care was then transferred to the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital where she has continued to have further ultrasounds to check the cyst and also further tests have been undertaken to check the adrenal gland is functioning properly. We are still awaiting the results.
The care that Phoebe has received has been excellent and we are amazed at the volume of babies and children that are seen on a daily basis at the hospital. The staff that we have encountered have always provided a first class service with a smile and have supported my wife especially during the difficult and upsetting times when tests have been carried out on Phoebe.
It is for this reason that I would like to raise money for the Children's Hospital by running the Manchester Marathon and I would be very grateful for any donation made for this cause.
