Story
St Mary's is a church that dates back to the 12th Century and is grade II listed by English Heritage, it sits in the medieval centre of Manuden. In recent years repairs were needed to the ceiling and tiled roof as they were starting to leak. The church spire is covered in oak shingles which have passed the end of their normal lifespan and need replacing before they start letting in the elements. Unfortunately, this is costly work, not least is getting up there to do the work and the church needs to raise around £100k to re-shingle the spire.
Therefore on the 26/27th June, I'm attempting to run the Harcamlow Way - a 138 mile/223km figure of 8 loop starting and finishing at St Mary's church in Manuden. I'm hoping to raise an equal amount of money for both the church and the British Heart Foundation by completing the route and would be grateful of your support.
