University of Leicester Racing is a team of dedicated student engineers designing and building a formula-style electric race car to compete at Silverstone in July at IMechE Formula Student 2017.Having been the third highest placed UK electric vehicle (EV) team at Formula Student 2016, the team have set the ambitious aim of being the highest placed UK EV team at this years' Formula Student 2017, along with being the first current UK EV team to pass electrical scrutineering at Formula Student and race on the track.
To reach our goals we need your help to raise £3000 to cover the cost of entering the competition, materials and the running costs associated with manufacturing and running an electric racing car. Additionally, the Faculty of Science and Engineering has kindly agreed to match the £3000 raised, so for every £1 you donate, the team will receive £2. Any extra money raised will be kept aside to cover any last minute purchases and later will be invested in the future of the team.

My role is the Technical Lead of the Powertrain team. I am responsible for ensuring that the overall Powertrain system conforms to the strict regulations set by FSAE, while working harmoniously with the other sub systems in the car. I am very excited to seeing the project to completion, and as well as seeing the car perform in the Silverstone circuit, which happens to be where the F1 is held! Working in this project has taught me so many things that are not only relevant to my course, but they serve to benefit me in the future.
