Why London's Air Ambulance?
I am raising money in memory of our friend's 16 year-old son, Alfie. In November 2012 he fell from some scaffolding that he was working on. The air ambulance was called and he was flown to hospital, where his parents Jacqui and Mark were able to spend some precious time with him before he sadly passed away.
For many critically injured Londoners, the air ambulance makes the difference between life and death. As well as saving time in getting casualties to hospital, the air ambulance enables them to be treated on the way.
What am I raising money for?
London's Air Ambulance is attempting to raise enough money to buy a second air ambulance.
It currently costs £5 million per year to operate London’s Air Ambulance and to date the charity has only been able to afford one helicopter. With the second helicopter, and extended daylight flying hours, the cost of the service will increase to over £6 million per year.
