Story
My plan is to ride my Triumph Tiger 800XC motorbike from the British Army Training Unit Suffield (BATUS) to Tuktoyaktuk, north of the Arctic Circle! And back (hopefully), unsupported in 15 days. (4th - 18th July 2022)
The journey of more then 8,000km (5,000miles) is the equivalent of "Lands End to to John O' Groats" six times!
It will see me ride through Alberta, British Columbia, The Yukon and Northwest Territories of Canada. Riding north through the Rocky Mountains, breaching the Arctic Circle and continuing north to the edge of the Arctic Ocean! A combination of open prairie, beautiful mountain passes and unforgiving dirt trails; that will test physical and mental resilience, mechanical, navigation and riding skills to the limit.
Why and am I doing this?
In part, stupidity. But the main aim of Arctic Rider is to raise awareness of, and donations for, Mission Motorsport. The Forces' Motorsport Charity. Their motto being "Race Retrain Recover", they are the UK MODs competent authority for motorsport as a recovery activity. A worthy military charity, please visit the website to find out more: www.missionmotorsport.org
