Rode 120 miles at the weekend on the Dunwich Dynamo, felt ok. My first century ride, all training for the 29th
Why do this? I've been inspired by Médecins Sans Frontières since reading about the bravery of their doctors and staff in crises since the 1990s.
Last year I broke my collar bone and four ribs. Being mended by the NHS was a simple trip to local A&E. My injuries are now completely mended. This is easy in the UK, next to impossible without Médecins Sans Frontières in 65 countries around the world. MSF make this happen in places most of us would be too scared to visit.
They are funded mainly through private fundraising like this, 90% of their funds come from people like me and you. They are non-governmental, secular and independent. They are also capable of introspection into how they make this happen, courageously publishing this book last year.
This ride will be the hardest challenge I've done. I think MSF is a cause worth that effort, so I'd love you to support them and me by donating.
