I am cycling, as part of 'Team Alfie', 80km across the South Downs to raise money for Chestnut Tree House Children's Hospice. 

Below is the saddening story from a friend as to why:

"At 5 months old, our son Alfie started to become unwell. After many weeks in hospital, he was heartbreakingly diagnosed with Gauchers Disease Type 2 - a rare genetic disorder for which there is no treatment. It is a rapidly progressing disease and on 14th February, at 7 months old, Alfie passed away at Chestnut Tree House Hospice. Chestnut Tree House helped us enormously through Alfie's final days, and continue to provide bereavement support to our family. On the 16th July ‘Team Alfie’ will be mountain biking 60km across the South Downs to raise money for Chestnut Tree House.
