Story
I have decided to cycle the Silk Routes 12,000 km's to raise funds for Mercy Corps , as they do lots of fantastic work in the countries I will be cycling through (China, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey), in addition they have in the past worked in Uzbekistan and Iran. Further they have worked in countries I have visited in the past and fell in love with (Philippines, India, Kenya and Nepal)
Over and above Mercy Corps Help people in the world's toughest places, turning the crises of natural disaster, poverty and conflict into opportunities for progress. Driven by local needs their programmes provide communities with the tools and support they need to transform their own lives.
Their mission "Alleviate suffering, poverty and oppression by helping people build secure, productive and just communities." are core values that i really belive in and that we should all try to help with.
I know times are hard, but if you want to help out with the very worthwhile work Mercy Corps do all over the world , then please consider making a donation.
