My name is Gary Prescott, THE Biking Birder. Next year I will spend every moment that I can trying to see as many bird species as possible, trying to become the British and European Green Birding BIGBY Champion.

To do this I will NOT be using any form of carbon-fuelled transport.

My Biking Birder adventure, my sixth, will be GREEN, as befits a Big Green Big Year - BIGBY.

To become the European BIGBY Champion I need to see 305 different bird species in 2022. The current holder of this accolade is a Spaniard, Ponc Feliu Latorre. My hope is that I beat him.

Next year I will be 66 years old and after a career as a teacher; having taught in Secondary, Primary and a variety of Special Needs posts, I wish to give something back for children. During over thirty five years of teaching I was privileged to teach so many wonderful children, memories of so many of them flood into my mind as I write these words.
