Story
In 2014 my sister-in-law Sonia Sellings passed away after a brave, inspirational fight with Ovarian Cancer. Sonia was a real family person who would do anything to help others. Since Sonia left us my wife and family, inpaticular my sister-in-law Shelley, have done all they can to raise money and awareness for Ovarian Cancer Action. Due to its connections, other family members have been tested for the BRCA gene. Unfortunately two of my other sister-in-laws tested positive for the BRCA gene and therefore underwent preventative surgery.
Ovarian cancer is the UKs most deadly gynaecological disease claiming a womans life every two hours. In fact, diseases like breast cancer had better survival rates five decades ago than ovarian cancer does in 2019.Were determined to do something about this. To take action and make ovarian cancer a survivable disease.
In April 2020 I will be running the London Marathon as part of the Ovarian Cancer Action team. In 2016 I ran the Brighton Marathon in memory of Brian Sellings my father-in-law for Prostate Cancer UK, Men United. I will be aiming to beat my time and am aiming to finish in under 4hrs.
Thank you for taking the time to read my page.
