Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page - which has now closed for this challenge after raising nearly £5k - thank you for everyone who donated.

New Year New Challenge! After completing my 100k for St Roccos Hospice in December it is now time to announce my next challenge to help stay fit and motivated in what is, unfortunately, going to be another challenging year!

My new mission is to run the equivalent of 30 half marathons in 2021 to help celebrate 30 years of the amazing Warrington Disability Partnership where I am humbled to be the longest-serving trustee. This means I must run a minimum of 660k this year!

For comparison here are my previous Stats from when I first started running in 2018!
2018 I managed 110k.
2019 I got up to 220k
2020 I achieved 340k
2021 Target 660k 🏃‍♂️🙈😫
So now I must nearly double my efforts for a great cause.
But after raising nearly £1.5k in one month and seeing as I am going to have to double the effort I will be hoping to raise at least £3k in the 30th anniversary year of WDP.
I’ve been inspired by Dave Thompson and the team for more years than I can remember and look forward to helping raise the profile of this much-needed charity!
So if you see me on my running travels just shout the magic words - Run Forrest Run! If you haven’t watched Forrest Gump I highly recommend it - and yes I am probably stupid for setting myself this challenge but it will certainly help keep me focused and hopefully healthy! Three 5ks a week here I come!
