Guy's Cancer - Liege to London 2019 · 18 September 2019 to 21 September 2019 ·

20 cyclists take on the 300 mile cycle from Liege to London to raise essential funds for Urology research at Guy's Cancer (Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital) .

Story

In 2016 we rode (push bikes!) as part of a team from Lands End to London in support of cancer research at Guys Hospital London. We raised £150k then which paid for 2 vital clinical research fellows - Dr Thanos Pouptsis and Dr Mo Linh Le.

In September Gary is riding as part of a team of other patients, friends and Drs from Liege (in Belgium!) to London. Aim is to raise more funds to support research relating to immunology approaches to treating cancer and also a clinical trial involving patients. Hopefully he gets back before Brexit!

Guy's hospital and its consultants have treated us 3 Barclays boys as well as Gary's dad. Gary's dad would not have his bladder had it not been for the skill and dedication of those at Guy's hospital and Gary, Gareth and Tarun probably wouldn't be here.  Important to us to do a little to give back and help support this life changing and life saving work.
