The purpose of doing an around the world challenge is to raise money for the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA). This is often a forgotten charity that is in place for members of the service community whenever they are in need of support. My collegues and I are aiming to achieve a total distance of 40,075 km - equivalent to the circumference of the world - and this challenge started on 2 August 2010.
